The anti-fouling performance of the PVDF membrane is observed under different experiment conditions. The modified membrane is characterized by the attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR/FT-IR) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM). It is shown that the surface of the membrane becomes smooth, and the hydrophilic group is introduced onto the membrane. And the anti-fouling performance is the best when the monomer concentration is 0.7 mol/L, and the illumination time is 3 min. The main advantage of this method is that the membrane is easily modified by the water phase.
