Abstract:Studies of pulsars, neutron stars, and quark stars are reviewed. After a brief introduction to the research history, recent achievements of quark stars are presented, with a focus of the work by the authors' group. Possible challenges, especially the ways to distinguish normal neutron stars and quark stars, are discussed. Quark star candidates are suggested, which could be tested by future observations.
