Abstract:The large amount of experimental data produced by the B factories have stimulated wide investigations of theories for B meson decays. We briefly induce the recent developments in this field, including QCD-improved factorization, perturbative QCD, and soft-collinear effective theory. We shall compare the fundamental assumptions, the treatments of decay mechanism, and phenomenological predictions among these theories.
