Key Issues in Designing and Preparing Hypersonic Missile Radomes |
|
|
Abstract: Several key technologies of hypersonic missile radomes are summarized and narrated. The basic functions and electric parameters of radomes are introduced; the advantages and disadvantages of present radome materials are estimated, and the future direction for high temperature wave-transparent materials is indicated. The importance of molding techniques is explained. The mathematic relations among the alteration of electrical thickness and that of dielectric constant and geometrical thickness are studied. The feasibility and necessary of adjustment by finish machining are discussed; the stress endured when aviating at a high speed and the designing principle of structure are analyzed; the effects of ablation in studying the mechanism of ablation are detailed and concluded, and the methods of evaluating the general performances of radomes are introduced.
