This paper addresses the basic issues in intelligent manufacturing, from fundamental concepts to planning and implementation, with respect to th technical and economic feasibility. In the process of promoting intelligent manufacturing, enterprises should take their own technical conditions into account, avoiding blindly pursuing the technology novelty. Only in this way can we ensure a sound development of the intelligent manufacturing.
