Abstract

This article introduces the preparation of silicon materials by molten salt electrolysis and its application in the energy fields. Molten salt electrolysis can achieve large-scale preparation of silicon nanomaterials from a feedstock of silicon oxide at fairly mild temperatures. The obtained silicon nanomaterials are controllable in purity and morphology and can be used in silicon-based photovoltaics and the negative electrode of a lithium-ion battery. Also presented is an overview of the relevant fundamental research progress in 2019.
