In China, there have been a number of outstanding scientists who not only made scientific success but also had deep sense of social responsibility in such as the development of science, technology and education for the country and the nation. Beyond their professional researches, between science and society, they also left much rich intellectual heritage. From the perspective of "the asks of great scientists", the paper combs the thoughts and explorations on scientific and technological innovation of several famous scientists (Peng Huanwu, Yang Zhenning, Zhou Guangzhao, Hao Bailin, Tsung-Dao Lee and Feng Duan).
