Advances of research and application of 5G industry private network

Abstract

5G industrial private network is the anchor point to meet the differentiated needs of enterprises and enable thousands of industries, and is the important grasp in helping enterprises realize informatization, digitization and intelligent transformation. In this article, the domestic and abroad specifications and policies of 5G industry private network are sorted out; the main modes and platforms of foreign private network services, application cases and solutions of typical domestic industries are also listed. The application status and representative research outcomes in the four fields of networking mode, spectrum strategy, security guarantee, and operation/ maintenance are summarized and analyzed. Network slicing, multi-access edge computing, enhanced uplink, precise positioning, as well as several potential technologies are elaborated and looked forward separately. The difficulties and challenges faced are pointed out, the future development trend is prospected, and suggestions for follow-up action are given.
