    Since the State Council announcd the "the Outline of the Construction of Transportation Power" in September 2019, China's transportation development has entered a new journey. The state is now preparing the outline of comprehensive three-dimensional traffic network planning. All provinces and cities are actively carrying out the construction of transport power demonstration area. Based on the description of the role and significance of transportation, this paper analyzes the current situation and gap of China's transportation development, summarizes the experience and enlightenment of the transportation development in major world powers, expounds the opportunities and challenges of China's construction of a transportation power, interprets the key breakthrough points in the construction. Finally the paper puts forward some suggestions.

    Thanks to its recent rapid development, China's railway sector is among the best or even leading the world in terms of size and quality of the railway network, technology and equipment, passenger ridership and freight volume. China has become a country with strong railway competitiveness and the railway has been playing a significant role in economic growth and social development. However, there is still room for improvement. Focusing on the current railway challenges and objectives the paper suggests that it is urgent for China railway to further improve the quality of development, optimize network structure, enhance innovation, improve transportation benefit, safety and services, promote green and intelligent railway development, and strengthen international influence.

    To build a civil aviation power in the new era, technological innovation must act as the key driving force. This paper analyzes the connotation of civil aviation power and its requirements for technological innovation. Civil aviation technological innovation needs to meet the new situational requirements in terms of providing new momentum for development, enhancing effective supply, breaking resource constraints, improving independent innovation capabilities, and responding to the new round of technological revolution. The main directions of civil aviation technological innovation include four aspects:infrastructure, transportation equipment, operation technology and transportation organization.

    In order to effectively achieve the goal of building China into a country with strong transportation network, this paper explores the role of big data technology, its application methods, and prospects in the fields of transportation management, traffic safety, traffic information service, transportation planning, and public transportation. Some cutting-edge technologies, such as situation awareness(SA) system based on CPS, multimodal transportation knowledge graph(KG) based on dynamic ontology, and intelligent video recognition based on edge computing and deep learning, are covered. The overall big data engineering framework and implementation methods are also analyzed, and relevant application scenarios are provided.

    Various new types of Internet plus transportation are emerging and a large number of data resources have appeared. To build China's strength in transportation it is importank to make better use of big data technology to promote intelligent transportation. Aiming at the shortcomings of the traditional signal control system such as low optimization frequency and poor integrity of data acquisition equipment this paper develops an intelligent signal control system using ride hailing vehicle trajectory data. The architecture and characteristics of the control system, as well as optimization techniques, are introduced. Field experiments in Jinan, Wuhan and Liuzhou, respectively, have demonstrated that without relying on channelization and intersection reconstruction, only through signal control optimization and software upgrades, the average delay times of morning and evening peak hours and vehicle stop times are decreased by 10%-20%, thus effectively alleviating traffic congestion across the whole city level.

    This paper discusses the future direction and strategic path of smart city and their relation with the development of ITS (intelligent transportation system) by considering the current stage and future bottlenecks of smart city technology as well as traffic problems and challenges faced by megacities in China. The article further elaborates the core function and advantage of edge computing server as the basic cell of the entire smart city information infrastructure. Finally, the paper proposes some future applications of edge computing server in the context of smart city and transportation.

    Shenzhen is one of the core engine cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics. Demonstrating a new mode of transportation modernization management in megacity and building a multimodal transportation network that effectively supports the construction of global benchmark city are the two strategic choices of Shenzhen. Based on the transportation resource endowment, this paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges of megacity, and puts forward the path of high-quality transportation development with the help of science and technology application and mechanism innovation in megacity. Then, four major directions of building a strong transportation network are formed. This paper also proposes a series of core tasks that need to be broken through. Moreover,this paper explores how to build a strong transportation network which could efficiently support the strategic orientation of the city and transportation service, as well as help science and technology innovation to be widely applied.

Guided by the outline of building a country with strong transportation network, we present an in-depth analysis of problems, trends, and the construction of Zhejiang model area, and put forward the "four strengthening demonstrations" for multilayered transportation, industrialized transportation, intensive transportation and credible transportation, and the "four leading demonstrations" for enchanting transportation, digitalized transportation, civilized transportation and secure transportation.

    This paper discusses the development status and bottleneck of traditional intelligent transportation at first, then combined with the development of motor road coordination technology it puts forward an integrated intelligent transportation solution of car, road and cloud. Next, it presents the L4 self-driving bus demonstration operation under open road condition of Zhengzhou Smart Island, which has been put into normal operations for passengers. The successful landing of the project has verified the feasibility of the road coordination core application scheme(blind zone early warning and signal coordination), and laid a practical foundation for the development of road cooperative technology innovation. Finally the paper visions the future of the coordinated development of the road in terms of the country's latest 5G and transportation power policy.

    Focusing on one belt one road construction and aiming at the problem of overseas port network construction, the paper systematically studies the progress and achievements of China's overseas port network construction in terms of current situation, classification of cooperation modes, and analysis of economic contribution mechanism. It also puts forward the following suggestions:improving the layout of overseas ports, promoting the coordinated development of port and city, building the whole logistics system for production, transportation and marketing, and promoting the construction of sea-land combined logistics network. These proposals will be useful for Chinese enterprises to further improve the layout of overseas ports, and promote the infrastructure interconnection and high-quality construction of one belt, one road.
