    The use of renewable plant biomass is a crucial step to achieve the goal of sustainable development. However, three main technical hurdles, namely cost-effective hydrolysis of lignocellulose, microbial reducing sugar utilization, and isolation and purification of metabolites, should be overcome. China has developed novel technologies and has made a great progress in these three aspects. The perspective breakthrough in biomass technologies will make bioenergy and commodity chemicals competitive with those derived from petroleum.

    In order to meet the demands of raw materials for biomass fuel oil production in China,we have conducted an overall investigation of the main woody plant resources suitable for the biomass fuel oil production in China. The paper provided with the results concerning the distribution, growth and utilization possibility of the woody plants for biomass fuel oil in China, put forward the idea of establishing the resources base for the main woody energy plants in resource abundant regions, conducted the selection and breeding of superior types and made research on the biological characteristics and economic characters, and established the seed stock breeding bases. The research not only fills in gaps in research on woody energy plants for biomass fuel oils, especially the selection and breeding of improved variety, provides new resources for the production of biomass fuel oil,but also plays an obvious role in speeding up the industrialization process of biomass fuel oils.

    The proposed biorefinery produces biodiesel from vegetable oils as the major products through transesterification with methyl alcohol, and simultaneously produces glycerine. Both the biodiesel and glycerine can be further processed into commodity and biodegradable fine chemicals. In this paper, the importance of such biorefinery in China is firstly discussed from reducing petroleum import, protecting environment and increasing employment opportunities, and then current rapidly growth of biodiesel in the world due to roaring crude price is introduced. The key issue in developing biorefinery is the supply of vegetable oil raw materials, particularly their prices. And finally the opportunities and challenges are discussed.

    Natural Fatty Acid Synthase (FAS) exists in two different forms as FAS I and FAS II. The animal FAS I is a multifunctional enzyme consisting of seven active domains, and FAS II existing in plants and bacteria is an enzymatic system comprising seven independent proteins. FAS I and FAS II exhibit homological characters in the enzyme catalyzing ketoacyl reduction, and they show similar enzyme catalyzing and information is not clear. The goal of this project is to compare the similarity and difference between the structure and function of two kinds of ketoacyl reductase, thereby understanding the structure and function of FAS I. The comparison studies of these two homological enzymes will help to elucidate the structure and function of multifunctional enzyme and may be beneficial to exploring new-type inhibitors with specialty, which shows great theoretic meaning and practical value in exploring leading chemicals for drug development.

    Initial Sequence Number (ISN) prediction is a key technology of striving for information superiority. On the base of Michal arithmetic, and combined with chaotic time series and linear regression, a new ISN prediction method is presented and validated by formal proof .The result indicates that present Operation Systems' TCP ISN generation methods still have serious security risk.

    In the information economy era, it's important to enforce e-business transformation for all traditional industries. After a review on the business model change and the value-net theory under the e-business environment, we constructed a model of key business process of the medicine industry, and combining the analysis of industry characters, product characters, channel characters and customer characters of the medicine industry, we got 6 e-business models that fit the medicine industry based on the value-net. Through the value-net model, medicine enterprises can analyze, choose and implement e-business model based on it.

    Based on Synergistic Theory and the coupling rule between urbanization and ecological environment, the Coupling Degree Model of urbanization and ecological environment has been put forward, which is composed of two parts, i.e. Coupling Degree Model and Forecasting Model. The Coupling Degree Model includes Efficacy Function, Coupling Degree Function and its index system, in which the index system is crucial and determines its available application. Forecasting Model of Coupling Degree adopts BP network according to artificial network characteristics. At last, the coupling degree and forecasting coupling degree of Xuzhou city have been investigated and to some quantitive suggestions developed.

    Now the coordinative problem of Zhejiang Province economy-resource-environment is very serious and the task of realizing systematic optimization is very pressing. Nonlinear thought and overall research pattern must be set up and adopted for systematic optimization, and the transitional form from resource-based economy to knowledge-based economy must be sought. How to reduce the consumed resource and the discharged contamination of unit economy increases under the condition of setting economic norms is put forward, and how to adjust the relative economic norms according to the situation of resource and environmental load should be studied. The harmonious way of systematic optimization could be found step by step by adopting the combination of those two methods in cycle repeatedly.

    It is listed the important LCS(Large Complicated Systems) construction projects in China at the beginning of 21st century in view of the RMS(Reliability, Maintainability and Safety) management. It also reviewes some key LCS construction projects from RMS management point of view.These projects are: civil jet aircraft; long life and high reliability communication satellite; 1000MW nuclear power station; quasi-high speed & high speed railway; Xingjiang-Shanghai gas pipeline building engineering.     This paper uses the data envelopment analysis (DEA model) to value the efficiency of input and output of the 50 mining cities of China in 2002. Studies have shown: Different space distribution of our country (the east, in, west) and different kinds of mining cities (coals, petroleums, metals, comprehensive types) have differences on input and output, the efficiency of the element that the city invests also plays not the same. The article carries on projecting analysis on invalid 46 cities in 2002. It has practical significance to sustainable development strategic policy of mining cities.

    Issues concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers are one of the keys of building a well-off China in an all-round way, which depends on the effective energy support. The rural area demand trend to the energy, especially high-quality energy was analyzed, and that rural energy supply and consumption are key problem we have to face in building an all-round well-off society in all-round way was pointed out. As an important component of the whole national energy system, the rural energy development should affect the supply and the demand situation of the national energy, so to rural energy should be attached high importance on a strategy level. Strategic reflection and technological stress solving the rural energy problem through developing the renewable energy greatly were also proposed.

    Although the reform of rural taxes and tolls, it resulted in the crisis of the supply of the rural public goods. The thinking of the reform of rural taxes and tolls is deviated because we didn't realize the substance of the overweight financial burden on farmers. The substance of the problem is that the farmer's taxes and administrative charges exceed the rural public goods. The correct thinking of the reform of rural taxes and tolls is that the farmer's taxes and tolls should be equal to the rural public goods.
