Multi-scale representation and multi-scale spatial database play an important role in such fields as the transmission of streaming media data over the web, the self-adaptable visualization of spatial information, the navigation in spatial cognition, the scale match during inter-operation and other applications. Realizing this technology has to resolve the questions including the large data volume, the slow response, the conflicts between data representations and the steep change in scale range. This study aims at the questions above presenting four strategies: storing data of multi-scale versions, accumulating changes based on the initial version, transferring between key state versions and generalizing to derive any version based on the initial state. Among four strategies, the changes accumulation model has been attached importance to be a new method which borrows the ideas from the technology of video data compress.

Oriented to the demands and properties of applying Remote Sensing (RS) image to update geographical information, such topics as information fusion, change detection, data mining and image retrieval were investigated. When RS image was used to update geographical information, both multi-source and multi-temporal RS image fusion were important. In multi-source fusion, decision-level fusion should be emphasized. A new framework of multi-temporal RS information fusion and dynamic analysis including four levels was proposed. According to the demands of automatic information updating, RS Data Mining is proposed, and some key problems were further discussed, also the applications of RS Data Mining to geographical information updating were analyzed. Finally, content-based RS image retrieval used to extract interested images from image database was discussed, and those useful image features were discussed in detail.

Land data assimilation is a new means for multi-source geospatial data integration. We first introduced the conception and composition of the land data assimilation system (LDAS). Data assimilation is the method to integrate observations with model simulation results. The observations can be both direct and indirect data, from different sources and with variant resolutions. The output from a LDAS is datasets of land surface variables with spatiotemporal and physical consistence. We then reviewed major LDASs under development, which include the Global and North American Land Data Assimilation Systems developed by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), European Land Data Assimilation System, and Land Data Assimilation System for West China. We think that the Land Data Information System derived from LDAS will play a very important role in the new generation GIS.

The Three Gorges Project changes the nature conditions such as hydrological regulation which probably induce the eco-environmental changes of related regions, and then bring disputed eco-environmental impacts on the Three Gorges Reservoir Area and even the Yangtze Basin. The Eco-environmental Monitoring Network for the Three Gorges Project is the only mammoth comprehensive academically net in China with trans-regions, trans-agencies, multi-disciplines related to hydrology and water quality, local climate, soil, terrestrial biological resources, hydro-biological resources, land disasters, human health and eco-system of estuary. This paper introduced the Network’s task, contents, construction, macro-structure and its features and then briefly reviewed the major eco-environmental measures taken since the beginning of the Project.

The paper fist discussed on the trend of the research based on disruptive technology innovation and the relationship between the astride development and the disruptive technology innovation. According to the interdynamic principle between technology innovation and management innovation, the paper suggested the enterprise development strategy of disruptive technology innovation should be an overall innovation strategy and flexible strategy, institutional framework should be managed with the project and should be flat in order to realize the astride development based on the disruptive technology innovation.

The uniform index theorems in R1 and Rn were proved , which is the base of spatial property studies on random point set, also that of the spatial property studies on chaos. When uniformity theory was used in the studies on chaos, it was found that the uniform indices of double periodic fork were determinate convergent and that of chaos were convergent in mean square. Monopolized line length can be used to differentiate the intensity of chaos, on which the new word "chaometry" was constructed to show the intensity of chaos. The model and serial on chaos can be quantificationally evaluated by chaometry. Chaos can be interpreted as uniformization of track point set.

As an essential human capital investment, training has been rendered important by stockholders, managers as well as the trainees. Early training evaluation theories are mainly qualitative. Now, however, only learning about the changes of the trainees’ opinions, attitudes and behaviors does not satisfy people. Rather, they are more concerned on the financial results of training, say, how much value does the expensive training add to the organization and what does the investment bring along? Many scholars have put forward methods to measure return in training, including the model for measuring return on investment in human capital, utility of training, and a model of ROI based on result of training. This article reviews the literature on evaluating the effectiveness of training and points out some important problems to be studied and solved in the future.

On the basis of defining the customer faithful degree, the paper analysed the factors of effecting customer faithful degree. In accordance with the basic rule of target design, a target system has been designed, which can change the abstract, qualitative customer faithful degree into the concrete, quantitative target, then calculate the customer faithful degree. After analyzing the shortcomings of the quantitative ways of customer faithful degree, the paper made further researches on the quantitative way and process of the customer faithful degree.
