Microgravity science is an important branch of space science. To some extent, its frontier projects reflect the ability of human beings to understand nature and the research levels of various countries in this field. Under the extreme physical condition of microgravity, it is pregnant with the prospects of the discovery of new phenomena and laws in physical and chemical processes and material preparation, as well as the realization of the test and the verification of basic physical laws with higher precision. In this paper, the most important research progress of microgravity science in recent years is reviewed.

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, more than 2000 overseas Chinese science and technology professionals returned to China, becoming the backbones in China's scientific and technological development. The return of science and technology professionals involves troubles and obstacles and is of far-reaching significance. This group is the most shining group in the history of students studying abroad later working in China, and becomes a model for Chinese intellectuals seeking the way to serve the country with knowledge of science and technology in the contemporary China. Through a historical review of the process of the returning trend in the 1950s, their motivation and experiences of returning, the significant work they did after returning to China, the scientific spirit and feelings for the home and the country are shown.

The scientific and technological professionals are an important innovative and developing power in the framework of the national strategy. Their mental health is vital to ensure their creativity and productivity. To study the mental health state and the risk/protective factors among Chinese scientific and technological professionals, a large survey with over 10,000 samples is conducted in 2019. It is shown that:over 1/5 scientific and technological professionals have depressive symptoms, 10.6% have the suicide ideation in the past year, and 55.5% suffer varying degrees of anxiety, about 8.8% and 4.5% of the professionals have moderate and sever anxieties, respectively. Male professionals have higher level of depression than the female professionals. The young and middle aged professionals have higher level of depression and anxiety than the elder ones. The professionals with middle-level professional titles or without titles have the highest level of depression and anxiety and the higher the titles, the less the risk of suicide ideation. More research professionals have depression than the support and manage professionals; the work stress, and the life stress, such as the financial strain and some stress related to family member issues are the risk factors of the scientific and technological professionals. Meanwhile, the support from colleagues and leaders, the better emotional regulation ability and strategies, the environmental adaption, the coping ability, the better psychical health and more frequent exercise are the protective factors. Generally, the scientific and technological professionals have mental health needs and would like to accept mental health services, especially, the highly privacy protected ones. However, there are both objective and subjective obstacles, due to the limited service resources and lack of knowledge of mental health services. At present, the mental health services cannot meet the needs of scientific and technological professionals. Therefore, the mental health services should be implemented and strengthened, and the knowledge of mental health should be popularized.

The talent ecological environment is an important factor affecting talents' will to stay. In order to understand the current state of the talent ecological environment in Shanghai and its impact on talents' will to stay, a questionnaire is designed based on a review of literature. The SPASSAU statistical software is used to analyze the survey data. It is shown that:talents with different demographic characteristics have different levels of the five talent ecological environmental factors; there are significant differences in the will to stay among the talents of different genders, professional titles, positions and disciplines; and the economic environment, the living environment, the cultural environment, the policy environment have a positive and significant impact on the talents' will to stay, among which the policy environment has the greatest impact. This research indicates that when the basic living needs and spiritual needs of talents are satisfied, Shanghai talent policy should adopt different policy standards to meet the different needs of different talents.
